POLICIES for PERISHABLES
We use top of the line industry packaging and dry ice to make sure your meat arrives in great condition, and do everything possible to ensure on time, successful delivery. As an additional measure, we offer insurance at checkout and highlight recommend selecting that affordable option for all perishable shipments. Once the box leaves Little Creek and is in transit with UPS, it is out of our hands and while rare, delays, porch thefts, and other shipping issues can happen. Selecting insurance at checkout ensures you will either have a new package shipped right away, or be fully refunded.
Perishable shipments are shipped with dry ice, which keeps box contents very cold. Dry ice is usually gone by the time package is opened, but if it is, do not touch with bare hands and never put it in the freezer. Leave it in empty shipping box or outdoors to finish sublimating.
Your meat will arrive frozen, partially frozen, or ready to eat. The USDA confirms that meat that is cold to the touch (colder than refrigerator temp) can be eaten safely and can also be refrozen safely.
Please contact us ASAP if you encounter a problem with your meat delivery, and we will do our best to assist. Due to the perishable nature of our products we do not accept returns. Please contact us within one week of receiving your order if you have an issue of any kind. To protect you meat during shipment, select shipping insurance at checkout.
